WikiSet is not properly a software. It aims at becoming a community web site to collect as much informations as possible about datasets used for machine learning (and so data mining, pattern recognition, etc.) experiments.

What WikiSet is

WikiSet is just a classical Wiki web site based on well-known MediaWiki software. Currently is very rough and it needs the help of all of you

What WikiSet is not

WikiSet is not yet another repository for datasets. For this goal some successfully projects already exist, like the UCI Machine Learning Repository, the UCI Knowledge Discovery in Database Archive, and so forth.

Writing a page

The main goal of this wiki is to organize pages about the datasets, with descriptions, experiments, results, etc. It would be nice having detailed guidelines and instructions, but at the moment we have not. We only have a page about the famous Iris dataset, set up to delineate a first form of standard template.

Registration

Unlike other wiki websites, WikiSet needs you to be registered and logged in, in order to create and edit pages. This is because there are no moderators or other staff that can hardly manage WikiSet. However, the registration is a fast and easy one-step process.
